Hi! My name is Akshay, and I’m a software engineer and game developer based in Austin, Texas. Here’s a little bit about me:
I wrote my first game in high school, which was a text based treasure-hunting game in C++. During my time as an undergraduate CS Engineering student, I began developing mobile apps and games, publishing them to the App Store and the Google Play store.
I later joined the Entertainment Technology Center at Carnegie Mellon University as a Graduate student, completing my Masters degree in 2016. There I worked on several projects in various team sizes ranging from game jams to semester-long client projects. Beyond mobile and PC games, I enjoyed developing on then-new platforms, such as the Oculus Rift, Xbox Kinect, Leap Motion, and Makey-makey.
Since 2016, I’ve been working as a Gameplay Programmer on the MMORPG Crowfall. Working on a complex architecture and being mentored by senior engineers has been a hugely rewarding experience. I enjoy working with game designers to implement mechanics, writing tools, and working with sound designers and artists to make the game come alive in the engine.
Outside of game development, I’m passionate about going to live shows and collaborating with others to make music and events happen. I love connecting with peers in the music and game development communities, so if you’re interested in hearing more about my work, or want to discus projects, feel free to contact me using the buttons below!
Thank you for stopping by, and I wish you a great day. 🙂
